A Great Invitation
Dear Friend,
Thank you for honouring my invitation to visit faithful30.
There will be no faithful30 without a faithful God and I want to extend a greater invitation to you.
Nothing hurts me than when God is likened to going to church, listening to a religious figure or doing anything external.
God is not a concept. He is a Person. A breathing Person and I want to invite you to have a personal relationship with Him. This has nothing to do with any physical Church.
God created you and everyone loves what they create. Everyone feels personally responsible for what they create and this is no different with God.
Sin is real and sin interrupted God’s plan for man but sin did not destroy the plan. God gave us a better way to enjoy Him by dying for this sin that was a separator between Creator and creation.
Jesus walked on this very same earth about 2,000 years ago. Jesus was God in flesh. God could not come down in His glory – we would all have died. Instead, He came to earth in the same way we are: flesh and blood, to live like us, experience what we go through as humans, eventually die for us so that by that death, that sacrifice of His very self, we could have a way to begin and enjoy an active, living, breathing relationship with Him.
The effect of this personal relationship and acceptance of what has been done results in external things like going to a physical Church/gathering of believers, doing good things for people, denying ourselves some things, choosing to stop dressing a certain way, stop going to certain places, stop maintaining certain relationships… all as a matter of free choice and not a thing of compulsion because we know such restrictions will help us make decisions which will please a God we love.
I can only plead with you to stop looking inward and start looking upward. You are not the answer to your self and the clock is ticking till you go 6 feet under.
There is no other way to do life than walking with and living for Your Creator. The one Person who knows you in and out and cares so very dearly for you. I understand how it may be a struggle for you to understand why you need a God if your life seems pretty good, you have a lovely family, financially comfortable, you’re a nice person etc. and I shiver really at how much harder it will be for you to see your need for a Saviour.
You need a Saviour and a Saviour has come. Just look to Jesus is all you need to do. Understand who He was when He walked on earth, the things He said, how He was killed, why He was killed and how He did something never before in history- He came right back to life without anyone laying hands to pray for Him. He became the Firstborn from the dead (Revelation 1:6) and because of that, there will be a lineage of people who rise from the dead. This is the only trend we should pursue – the trend of those who rise from the dead and not trends of this capricious, wavering world.
This isn’t fantasy. It is simple history like the History we study in school as a subject.
I plead with you friend, a time will come when it will be late for you to even consider this because you will have everything, your memory, your senses but realise that you are dead and cannot at that time make a decision of where you want to spend eternity because you will already be in eternity.
There is no other way to do this fleeting, painful life than knowing The One who made you and why He made you. Despair, frustration, feelings of uselessness and genuine wishing for death led me to Him because He explained that He made me and for a purpose. Your case is not any different even if you think you have found your ‘purpose’.
Jesus is calling, “sinner, come home!”.
“Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near:Let the wicked forsake His way, and the unrighteous man His thoughts: and let Him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon”
(Isaiah 55:6-7).
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.”
(2 Peter 3:9 & 10).
Realise that you are a sinner despite your goodness. Repent. Look to Jesus. Be saved.
“For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect?”(Romans 3:3)
